Don’t think you need to pay big bucks to get best drawing lessons available. A lot of the best how to draw books out there are old as heck and can be had for free. All of these books were used in the curriculum when I studied animation in college. As a kid I wasted my money on countless garbage art books, but you don’t have to! Let’s spread the word and make these amazing books known to as many people as possible!
The Andrew Loomis books: (some of the first books any profesional artist will recommend) www.alexhays.com/loomis/
Dynamic Figure Drawing by Burne Hogarth: (my personal fav book for anatomy reference. I love the way he beaks forms into distinct, simplified shapes so they are easy to understand. Also all his dudes look like handsome Squidward) www.slideshare.net/eme2525/bur…
The Art of Animal Drawing by Ken Hultgren: (another fav, also great reference for showing movement in drawings) cdn.preterhuman.net/texts/art/…
Perspective made easy by Ernest Norling: www.storytellerartist.com/docu…
Advanced Animation by Preston Blair: (my all time fav drawing book, recommended even if you don’t draw cartoons. Same principles can be applied to any type of drawing) www.student.uni-ak.ac.at/s9957…
How To Draw Comics the Marvel Way by Stan Lee and John Buscema:
